Fall weather is here! I don’t know how long it will last, but today has been nice. Low 80s, a little bit breezy! I love it!
I’m not sure why I love the fall so much, if you think about it, fall is a sad time for me. My Daddy died in the fall, and it does bring back memories of that time. But, it is also a happy time, several birthdays that we celebrate are in September. The preacher’s birthday is this Wednesday, he’ll be 32! Shhhh, don’t tell him I told you! My niece’s birthday and DH’s grandma’s birthday is towards the end of the month. But, my favorite thing about fall, is the change in the weather and getting ready for Thanksgiving! (You knew that was coming! It had to come down to food, didn’t it? LOL) I love pumpkin pies, the leaves falling, the leaves changing colors, getting ready for Thanksgiving, and starting to think about Christmas! I really just love the cooler weather! I love to sit out on my back porch in the mornings with a cup of coffee and feel the cool breeze!
How about you? What do you love about fall? Take the time this week to think about that and what you are thankful for!
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 136:1.

Okay, ya’ll, I think I am just starting to get a taste of what it means to be a Pastor’s wife. It’s not something that I can explain. I’ll just say that at times, it can be a busy, busy life! It seems like there is always something going on! Just when we think we are going to have a relaxed week, something else comes up and we’re off again on this crazy roller coaster! It reminds me of a roller coaster. Ups and downs, twists and turns, sometimes scary and nerve wracking, and just when you think you can relax for a minute, here we go again! LOL
I’m not complaining at all. It is a very interesting life, but definitely something you are called into. Something only God can give you the strength to get through. Recently we lost a dear friend and church member. This week has been exhausting. It is not only physically exhausting, but emotionally draining. DH and I were talking last night about how we are looking forward to a weekend that we don’t have somewhere to go! We can just stay home and relax. The thing about that is that at home, there is always something to do too. We spend so much time away from home, that when we are there, we have alot of catch up work to do with house and yard work. We haven’t even had time to look for another dog yet! Again, I’m not complaining. I like to stay busy myself, I just reckon I felt like sharing with ya’ll some of the things that I am just starting to realize comes with the job/ministry! Thank you Jesus, for getting us through when we don’t have the strength to get through it ourselves!

Well, Friday evening we had bad news for the kids. Obviously, we had to tell them that Mrs. Crystal was killed. But, we also had to tell them that their dog died. I know, I know, how much can one person take? Well, surprisingly, they both handled it well. I was worried about ds because sometimes he takes things hard. But, when we told him about Mrs. Crystal, dh explained that we wouldn’t be seeing her anymore. DS says, “Yes, we will, Daddy. We will see her when we get to Heaven!”. Wow, my 7 year old understands better than some adults do, what the Bible says about death and how we should respond when we know someone was saved and we know they are in Heaven! Praise the Lord for my children!

A dear friend of mine was killed early Friday Morning. Please pray for the family of Crystal Martin. Crystal was killed Friday morning just after midnight, in an electrical storm. She was 29 years old, the daughter of Lois and J.W. Martin. Her brothers were Stephen and Jamie Martin. She went to school in Glenville until about middle school, when she moved to Long County School. She was a very active member of Little Rock Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, helped with the Youth, sang in the choir and did just about anything else that needed to be done. There is another Angel in Heaven today, one that served the Lord faithfully here on earth.

I found an old picture last night that I had scanned. This Saturday my daughter will celebrate her 4th birthday and we are having a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party. Her birthday is actually on Monday, but the party is Saturday. Well, this picture is from my 4th birthday! I didn’t even realize that I was 4 in this picture until last night my Mom told me. Funny how things come back around! The picture is kind of old, so don’t mind the spots and stuff!

Well, as the title says, I’ve had enough! I got on the scale this morning and was not happy. I have decided that I am going to lose weight and get healthy. I have been avoiding the scale because I knew that it wouldn’t be good news when I stepped on there. But, this morning, I’m glad I did. That was enough motivation to make me want to do something. So, I’m going back to what I have done before to lose weight, which was weight watchers. I’ll keep you updated.
By the way, the new excitement of school has already worn off. The kids, especially Matthew did NOT want to get up this morning! It is going to be a loooong year!

Okay, I know I was going to post these on Friday, but, you know, I didn’t. So, here they are.
First a little bit about our day. I woke up really early Friday so that I would have plenty of time to get the kids all ready and fed and off to school. When we got to school, Lily jumps out of the car, I put her back on her, and she starts walking off and shouts “Bye, Mom”. I said, “Wait, I’m coming with you”. She replied “Mom, I can go by myself”. And I said, “Well if you don’t mind I’d like to come in, please!”. (Let me remind you at this time that she is starting Pre-K!) She was very excited and I took some pictures of her in her class. Then when I finally got done there I went across the hall to Matthew’s class where his Dad had already taken him because I was taking way too long with Lily and I then took some pictures of Matthew in his class! Lily had a great day and so did Matthew. They are looking forward to Monday. This will last for a little while and then it will wear off and they’ll be hard to wake up in the mornings again!

Tomorrow is the first day of school for both of my children. My son starts the 2nd grade and my little girl starts Pre-K. I have something to say about that! I can’t believe my baby is starting school! She is excited, I’m kinda sad. Not only that, but my oldest baby is going into the 2nd grade!!! How did they get so big so quick? It seems like I just had my girl. Time flies so quickly and if you have small children, enjoy every moment you have with them. Once they start school it seems like it just flies by. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow of the first day! I’m sure I’ll take plenty, my boy usually gets aggravated with my camera-craziness!

Well, we have named the cat Allie. That is the only name we could all agree on. Lily wanted to name her Rocky! She heard me say Roxy and thought I was saying Rocky. LOL
I’m very excited that my Daddy’s sister, her daughter and grandaughter are coming for a visit. They live about 6-7 hours away from us and I have not yet met the baby! She is just about a year old. I can’t wait to get me some sugar!
Please pray for our church. There is a little bit of conflict going on right now (isn’t there always in a church?). I just pray that feelings will not get hurt and that God will deal with those who are doing wrong. Also, please pray for my husband, as the Pastor he is under alot of stress right now. We know that as long as he is doing things by the scriptures and letting God lead the church, God will deal with anyone that tries to undermine his authority.
